Simple Guide to Using Other Specialists:
Land Surveyor

Land Surveyor

A land surveyor is used to produce a survey of your existing site. This will consist of plans with levels (and elevations, if necessary) of your land, existing buildings, and/or any features e.g. trees, drainage, different surfaces etc.

If you have drawings of your existing house or if you want a relatively small extension, you will probably not need to get a survey done as most chartered design professionals can do this in-house. However, if you have a difficult site (e.g. awkward levels, disputed or unsure boundaries, tree conservation orders) then a full topographical survey will be necessary and will cost between £300 and £600.

3HW will advise you as to whether your project needs a land surveyor and will give recommendations as to who to use.
